A View of La Visita/Triptych represents a photographic interpretation by photographer Arianna Arcara of the Belgian dance theatre company Peeping Tom’s productions La Visita – site specific at the Collezione Maramotti – as well as Triptych: The missing door, The lost room and The hidden floor as it was staged at the Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia on the occasion of the Festival Aperto 2021.

Arcara followed Peeping Tom’s creative process first at Collezione Maramotti, where they staged improvised performances that resulted in the site-specific production La Visita, winner of the FEDORA – Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet 2021, to then move to the Teatro Municipale Valli to work on the acclaimed trilogy The missing door, The lost room, and The hidden floor.

The book moves between the minimalism of La Visita and the excess of Triptych. Through sequences, portraits, and details, it explores the uncanny, dreamlike hyperrealism that is present in both works. Arianna Arcara’s images are combined with original texts by Marinella Guatterini, Silvia Bottani, and Monica Poggi.
